That pretty much sums up how Ayato is. He lacks willpower and half the time is reluctant to do anything. He doesn't like to argue much due to his lethargic nature hence he will most likely go with whatever you say with an evident lack of sincerity. He would just accept whatever views or opinions you have without argument, not because he lacks an opinion but because he simply can't be bothered. He enjoys a drama free day and would rather just sit on his favourite beanbag in his room and gaze at the passing clouds out of his window. His life motto is pretty much living a life that is not troublesome. He is an intuitive and rather humourous person in the sense he is pretty sarcastic. If not for his lethargy he would probably be singing sarcasm down the streets. The only times whereby he is in his 'humourous' mood would be when he just wants to chase people he isn't fond of away or when he feels energetic enough. Note he is not rude, he just uses sarcasm at appropriate times like teasing his friends (or the above). He is really lazy. He hardly has any hobbies even other than sleeping, lying, watching tv. He can’t even be bothered to comb his hair, after he showers, after waking up and other scenarios. The only times his laziness is not evident is when he fetches his younger sister, Meika, from pre-school (sometimes he forces his younger brother, Daichi, instead--- ) or when it involves his studies (because of something that happened when he was younger). As a result, he is the epitome of unfit and sort of weak. His lanky and not seemingly obese body, hidden beneath his clothes, is actually rather formless(no abs or anything). He is just mildly tall and scrawny. Ayato is pretty immature. He likes making a fool out of his friends but most importantly, he doesn't think through his future carefully. His only hopes is to graduate high school without any hiccups.}

Biography:
Nakano Ayato was born to a pair of loving and cheerful parents. He is their firstborn. Ayato's father has a little pottery in the shopping district where Ayato's mother helps him out and as well as being a housewife. Just like the rest of his ancestors who made pots (their pottery used to be located further away from the location of the shopping district), his father followed their footsteps and makes pots for a living, all sorts of pots, plant pots, decorative pots. His house is surrounded by these pots filled with the many plants grown this town, half of the given by Ki's and Rei's friends. For his entire life, Ayato has lived in Koshu. He has never been out of Koshu before though he isn't sure if he wants to make pots for a living.}

_{As a child, Ayato wasn't an overly playful kid. He was rather terrified of loud noises at that time. It didn't help that his family consisted of jovial and rather loud people that constantly warms up the house with loud singing and laughing. It is funny how Ayato turned out to be such a lethargic and peaceful person.

The noise meter in the household got higher when his younger brother was born. Daichi, contrary to him, grew to be just like their parents, bubbly and spontaneous. Sometimes when the whole family is out having fun (as Ayato inserts inverted commas here), a frown can be quite evident on his face, partly from the hassle of going out and also his family is too excited for him to handle ( he gets burned out). It seems that his lethargy got even worse because of his hyper family. Some are under the impression he dislikes his family but in truth he loves them. 9 years after his brother was born, when he was 11, his baby sister was born. He was stunned. He felt too old to be a brother. The peaceful life he had led seemed to be intervened by this one baby. Yet, Ayato has somehow developed a soft spot for her. Meika is pretty much the only person that can make him run, not even his parents can make him budge and do his chores.
During his first year in middle school, he was nearly retained due to his atrocious results from the many days of lazing around and not hitting the books or at least paying attention in class. The few days before his makeup exam were the worse days of his life. He was close to tears and mugging. It was one of the few moments in his life he had put in so much energy and he isn't one that cries easily. In the end he made it. From then on, he makes it a point to pay attention in class and revise minimally every end of the week (he can't bear to repeat and go through the trouble of another year in school. )
He chose to go to Yamakawa High because it is practically a stone's throw away from where he lives. He finds the convenience beautiful. Furthermore from his experience in middle school, trudging to school for 15 minutes was too much for him to handle. He (kinda) worked hard for Yamakawa High entrance exam. He hopes to live a smooth high school life without having too much energy wasted.

Family/Friends:

Nakano Ki (44) - Ayato's father and the living and breathing alarm clock of the family. Sings Enkas at the top of his lungs at the break of dawn. Can be rather imposing. He is very concerned about Ayato's lack of energy and always places extra meat on his dishes every dinner.
Aikawa Rei (40) - Ayato's mother and a very strong and optimistic woman. She would never scold birds for taking a dump on her but would think that at least the birds are relieved. Enjoys talking to Ayato about the night time josei animes which Ayato does not enjoy. She makes really good fruit salads.
Nakano Daichi (14) - Ayato's adorable, sporty and spontaneous younger brother. Takes after their mother's positive nature. Daichi was the softball captain back in elementary school and plans to be one in his current softball club in middle school. Daichi though having a rather lame and unimpressive brother he always tries his best to impress Ayato so that Ayato would notice him. Daichi doesn't understand that Ayato is just too self-immersed to notice.
Nakano Meika (5) - Ayato's younger sister. She is a ball of happiness and mischief. Somehow Ayato has a really soft spot for her. He lets her drag him around or let her sit on his lap when she requests for it. Ayato is pretty flustered around her, scared that she would break because of him but he doesn't avoid her surprisingly.

Additional Info:
Ayato is so unfit that he would start hyperventilating after running half a round around the hall during PE. He tries his best to avoid being in the limelight during PE and takes toilet breaks a little too often that the teacher notices but just lets him go. During games he always avoids other players.

He is unhealthy. He lacks exercise and doesn't eat enough.

It is mainly through his family are you able to get a reaction out of him unlike his usually composed self. He might be panting and ranting and chanting (it rhymes omg) a string of nonsensical words and his parents and siblings would stare at him and wonder what's wrong with him.

Chants a string of words that can be sometimes nonsensical when nervous (or rarely, scared). Happens the most during PE.

He has naturally straight and soft hair which he obviously does not treasure from the way he treats it. Hence his hair appears generally tame except for a few wild strands.

Once Meika made a drawing of him. Ayato framed it up. Once, Daichi gave to him one too. It is nowhere to be seen ( Ayato has kept it somewhere though )}

_{Ayato joined Art club because he like how he gets to sit down while doing club activities. He is relatively good at observational drawing because half the time he observes people rather than actively participate with people. There, his main medium is watercolour. He usually paints things or settings near him because of his apparent laziness. So his pieces pretty much revolves around the table, the window, the sky and etc.

Sometimes when he is forced to put in effort due to circumstances he can appear really irritated and grumpy. It gets his mood down really easily.}
